Stayed second week in October so all the crowds have gone. 15 minute taxi ride from Mahon (about 20 Euros) One and a half hour’s walk if you feel energetic. The apartment is well equipped – everything you need in the kitchen. Dish washer, good sized fridge freezer, oven and hob. TV has internet linked to UK channels, so if you want to you can keep up with your TV viewing. The living area has a table and chairs, and comfortable seating as well as air con.The bedrooms are well equipped with fitted wardrobes, the double has aircon. Downstairs shower and toilet with bidet. Towels are provided. A large garage area has a washing machine and there is loads of space for storing suitcases etc, loads of “Beach gear” that the owners allow you to use. Upstairs is another double room with en suite and again, tons of fitted wardrobe space. The real gem is the roof top space HUGE!!!!! loads of furniture, sun loungers and really, a great place to spend the day, it gets the sun and has amazing views to the very close bay, and the island. There is a brick built permanent BBQ here too. If it gets too hot, the front door patio is above the street on the north side and will always be cooler, it is fully roofed and has a table and chairs. Notes of caution are posted, warning about leaving kids on the roof unsupervised.Es Grau is small, and empties in the autumn, The bars and supermarket close down. In the height of summer I imagine it is VERY busy, and the sandy beach will be very full, but rent a sit on top from Menorca en Kayak, and head out to the Island or one of many quieter bays and beaches reached only by sea or boat. The locals are friendly and most speak excellent english. Would I use this apartment again? A definite “Yes”, it was clean and comfortable, and in a great location. Ideal for two couples or a family wanting loads of space. The owner was reliable and prompt whenever I had a pre Holiday enquiry. It was not a sterile place that is let out for tourists, but more the owners’ Holiday’s home that they rent out, so there are lots of items there that belong to them, and they are prepared to share with you.
